Costs

Weatherization walkthrough  $99

This service is offered to homeowners who know they require insulation and air sealing work and want a general idea of what will be the most cost effective measures to take. The weatherization walkthrough is a visual inspection of the home’s condition looking at finding simple and obvious means to save on energy costs.  In approximately 90 minutes the Tight House auditor will come into the home and look around for the big problems pertaining to:

            Insulation
            Moisture
            Comfort

Heating and other appliances

A quick report will be written on the premises and returned to the homeowner with recommendations for improvements from an energy and health/safety standpoint. No sophisticated equipment will be used although they will be on premises if the customer wishes to upgrade to a different service.

Partial Audit

Excluding creating a full report Tight House

ill perform the entire process of a full home energy audit. Sophisticated equipment, including the blower door and infrared camera, will be implemented to isolate building components and identify energy faults.

This is great way to find the areas of home leakage. Although a priority list will be supplied to the customer, a full cost analysis outlining financial benefits of specific improvements will not be supplied.

How this differs from Weatherization

Walkthrough: Blower door and Infrared camera will be implemented to isolate problems and pictures delivered later via email.

Full Energy Audit typically $350-$500 depending on home complexity:

This is the most comprehensive service offered and will be of the most use to the customer. It includes all of the previous work but goes one step farther in providing a detailed report for the customer.

How this differs from the Partial Audit: The essence of the full energy audit is to capture as big a picture of a home based on energy performance as possible. Each component of the building will be individually diagnosed on a cost analysis basis. Estimates for the likely improvements will be compared to the savings benefits and a payback period will be supplied.

The final format will be a detailed report for the homeowner. This report is necessary to have in order for a lending institution to qualify homeowners for financing. Tight House will be happy to collaborate with your lending institution if required. See (link **Funding)

Post Audit: If Tight House has performed the prescribed work a post audit will be performed so homeowners can see the difference in their home’s performance.

Weatherization Services: An estimate for specific tasks will be given to the customer when requested.
